Dr. Stephen Bell is a licensed clinical psychologist with a child - adolescent specialty.  His therapy includes primarily cognitive-behavioral approaches with eclecticism as needed.  He recognizes the relationship between spirituality and psychological wellness. 

Dr. Bell completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting at Auburn, a psychology concentration at Georgia State, and a doctor of philosophy degree (Ph.D.) at The University of Memphis.  He completed internship and post-doctoral training at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center. 

In addition to clinical practice, he conducts research for publication and  presentation at professional meetings and publication in pediatric psychology in affiliation with UAB and offers a number of public education programs.  He has provided training for psychology and medical students from UAB, UGA, and BSU.  He is a past member of the executive council of the Alabama Psychological Association, served as the chair for the state board of ethics on psychology, and served as president of the Birmingham Regional Association of Licensed Psychologists.  Dr. Bell also served a term on the Board of Examiners on Psychology.  He currently serves on the Alabama Psychological Association Public Education Committee.

Dr. Bell is the father of three children.  He and his family are active in a local church where he teaches Sunday School. He has served as Chair of the Children’s Ministry Team and has taken part in local mission projects.
